Historic Georgetown Jazz Club Reopening Week After Fire
A historic Georgetown Jazz club is reopening after a fire broke out last week, officials state.
The Blues Alley Jazz Club will reopen Tuesday, Nov. 1, confirms a spokesperson for the historic jazz supper club.
The club went up in flames around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25, just 30 minutes before a scheduled performance, as previously reported by Daily Voice.
No serious injuries were reported in the blaze, which broke out in the attic space, according to DC Fire and EMS.

Jazz Club To Open In Northern Westchester
A new jazz club is set to open in Northern Westchester in the spring.
Jazz on Main Inc. announced on Tuesday, Nov. 9, that construction is underway for the business, which will open in downtown Mount Kisco.
The performance space will have 60 seats, and host musical performances, stand-up comedians, poetry readings, magic shows, and more, representatives said.
Mediterranean cuisine will also be offered at the location.
The business will be located a short walk from the Metro-North train station, representatives said.

Grammy-Winning Jazz Drummer Killed In Bronx
A Grammy Award-winning jazz drummer was killed in the Bronx over the weekend when his girlfriend and another man assaulted him, the NYPD said.
Lawrence "Lo" Leathers, 37, was found dead in a stairwell Sunday outside the East 141 Street apartment he shared with Lisa Harris, police said.
Another man, 28-year-old Sterling Aguilar of Brooklyn, had gotten Leathers into a chokehold while Harris, 41, punched him in the head, they said.
Police charged Aguilar and Harris with assault. Charges could be upgraded depending on the results of an autopsy, they said.
