Police ID Motorcyclist, 35, Killed In I-66 Crash
Police have identified the 35-year-old motorcyclist killed in a crash on Interstate 66 over the weekend.
Cody P. Riley, 36, of Owens Cross Roads, AL, was riding east at an excessive rate of speed on a 2018 Yamaha FZ09, when he lost control around 8:25 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, Virginia State Police said.
Riley was thrown from the vehicle in the express lanes at the 60 mile marker. His bike came to rest on the left shoulder.
Riley, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he died that day.

A 24-year-old North Carolina man who led a 115 mph pursuit that crossed three county lines in Virginia has been taken into custody, and two of his passengers treated for injuries, authorities said.
Marquilis T. Boyd, of Charlotte, NC, was behind the wheel of a Ford Taurus with an expired tag when Virginia State Police tried to stop the vehicle on Interstate 81 at the 245-exit ramp in Rockingham County, around 11:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, VSP Sgt. Brent Coffey said.

2 Women Killed In Virginia RV Crash, Driver Charged: Police
Two women traveling in an RV died in a rash involving a tractor trailer on Interstate 66 this week in Virginia, authorities said.
Ifreke E. Inyang, 25, of Houston, Texas, was charged with reckless driving after the Winnebago RV he was operating struck the eastbound trailer near milepost 16 around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8 in Fauquier County, State Police said.
The RV went off the road, through a guardrail and down an embankment, killing 39-year-old Lenisha T. Simon and 24-year-old Brenda M. Oyervides, both of Houston, VSP said.

Maryland Jeep Driver Dies In Fauquier Crash: Police
A Maryland man died in a head-on crash in Virginia, according to police.
The crash happened on Jan. 21, at 6:51 p.m. along Route 17 north of Interstate 66 when a 2021 Jeep Wrangler traveling north on Route 17 crossed over and hit a 2017 Dodge Ram head-on, Virginia State Police said.
The driver of the Jeep, Gilbert F. Dzakpasu, 43, of Germantown died at the scene of the crash as a result of his injuries
The driver of the Dodge, a 22-year-old male, of Marshall, Va., suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
