At 9:53 a.m., police, fire and EMS were dispatched to the McWane Ductile Plant at Sitgreaves St. and found the paint room fully engulfed in flames, Richard Hay, fire chief for the Town of Phillipsburg said. The 5th Avenue fire at Rainbow Specialty Colors broke out around 9:30 a.m. and went to two alarms.  Firefighters reported it under control less than an hour later.
