Second Time This Month: Man Pulled Over On Mass Pike Is Killed By A Tractor-Trailer
Police have identified the victim of a fatal Mass Pike collision involving a tractor-trailer truck and a man on the side of the road attempting to fix his vehicle. This is the second time in February 2021 that a person in a broken-down vehicle on the side of I-90 was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer. A State Police Officer got into a struggle when a suspect being placed under arrest appeared to reach into his waistband for a weapon. The skirmish happened the morning of Monday, Nov. 2, after an officer pulled over a vehicle for erratic driving. A man from Hopewell Junction was one of three individuals arrested after a pursuit by state police. New York State Police say they observed a driver commit a violation and attempted to initiate a traffic stop near on I-90 near Exit 24 in the town of Guilderland on Sunday, July 28 around 2 a.m. The driver sped away, and officers say a pursuit ensued for approximately two miles. A Hudson Valley resident who was one of two men arrested in a fatal three-car crash on I-90 was driving drunk with two young children in his vehicle, according to state police. A truck stolen from Rockland County was found more than 200 miles away when New York State Police responded to the Warners Service Area in the upstate town of Van Buren on I-90 near Syracuse for a report of a stolen vehicle.
