Smooth-Skinned Criminals: Men Stole $10K In Health, Beauty Products in Western Mass, Police Say
Two wanted men were arrested on Thursday, Sept. 21, after Hampden County police said they went on a crime spree stealing thousands of dollars worth of health and beauty items from stores.
Jayson Johnson, 25, and Sequanne Madden, 19, both of Queens, New York, face several charges after being busted by Holyoke police, authorities said.
Officers were called to Stop and Shop on Northampton Street after the store's security saw the men stealing thousands of dollars worth of products, Holyoke police said.

Second Man Charged With Fatal Shooting In Western Mass
A 29-year-old man from Hampden County was the second person arrested and accused this week of the shooting death of a Chicopee man two months ago, authorities said.
Ryan Navarro, of Holyoke, was arrested Tuesday, July 18, and charged with murder in the May 13 killing of 27-year-old Jasell Camacho, the Hampden County District Attorney said. James Carmenatty, 34, of Holyoke, was arrested days after Camacho was found shot to death in Holyoke, officials said.
Both men are being held without bail.

Man Charged With Shooting Death Of Connecticut Mother Of 4
A man from western Massachusetts is facing murder charges in connection with the death of a 36-year-old mother of four from Connecticut, authorities said.
Pablo Rivera-Ortiz, age 37, was arrested and charged with the murder of Connecticut resident Desiree Rivera Lopez, of New Haven, on Saturday, July 23, Holyoke Police said.
This was after officers responded to a report of a domestic altercation at 35 North Bridge Street just after midnight, police said. Upon arrival, the officer found Lopez had died from a gunshot wound.

Man Charged With Murdering 18-Year-Old Whose Body Was Found In Connecticut River
Weeks after the body of an 18-year-old was found in the Connecticut River, authorities arrested someone they believe murdered the beloved man from Western Massachusetts.
Elijah Melendez, age 21, of Holyoke, is being held without bail after he was charged in connection with the murder of Elis Vizcarrondo, also of Holyoke on Monday, July 18, Holyoke Police said.
Police found Vizcarrondo, who appeared to have been fatally shot, dumped in the Connecticut River in Chicopee on Sunday, July 3, police said. Vizcarrondo was reported missing prior to officers finding his body.

Fight Breaks Out At Key Foods Store In Western Mass
One man was arrested for fleeing from police and having a loaded gun following a fight with another man at a grocery store in Western Massachusetts.
The incident took place in Hampden County around 5:45 p.m., Thursday, June 2 at the Key Foods in Holyoke located at 13 Cabot St.
Police responded to the store after receiving a complaint of two men involved in a fight, with one having a gun, said Capt. Matthew Moriarty, of the Holyoke Police.

The victims of a triple-fatal wrong-way crash on Route 91 have been identified by Massachusetts State Police.
The victims of the crash which took place in Hampden County have been identified as Judith Keating, age 65, and Michelle Swaller, age 65, both of Milford, Connecticut, and Wallace Sherman Jr. of Gloversville of Fulton County in upstate New York, state police said.

A Western Massachusetts woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing multiple people.
The incident took place on Sunday, August 1 around 12:30 a.m., in Hampden County when Holyoke Police responded to the area of Main and Appleton at the Racing Mart Convenience store.
According to Holyoke police, two officers entered the parking lot area of Racing Mart, activated their emergency lights, and announced their presence.
