A speeding driver escaped serious injury, but not traffic citations, after police say he caused a crash involving two tractor-trailers Tuesday morning, Dec. 3 on I-87 in Rockland County. Joseph T. Bonomi of Washingtonville, was cited for speeding and moving from the lane unsafely, and treated at Westchester Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries following the crash in the southbound lanes in Hillburn, State Police said. For two days, numerous Hudson Valley fire departments battled a stubborn brush fire atop Nordkop Mountain. The fire occurred in Rockland County on Saturday, Oct. 26, and Sunday, Oct. 27, in Harriman State Park in Hillburn. Police are investigating a rush-hour crash on a busy Hudson Valley roadway that killed one man. The Rockland County incident happened on Wednesday, Dec. 20 in the town of Ramapo. Hudson Valley Man Accused Of Embezzling Nearly $100K From Soccer Club
Following a six-month investigation, a Hudson Valley man has been charged with allegedly embezzling some $100,000 from a soccer club. According to the Ramapo Police, a 35-year-old Hillburn resident was charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. The department said the charges allege that between 2020 and 2022, the man embezzled more than $95,000 from the Ramapo Valley Soccer Club. The person charged was not named by the Ramapo Police Department. He was arraigned and released without bail and is scheduled to appear in court in November.

Joseph Lewin, age 71, of Hillburn in Rockland County, also known as Joseph Lewandoski in the 1990s, was arraigned Friday, Sept. 30, on one count of felony sexual conduct against a child under the age of 13.
