Two-Alarm Fire Prompts Evacuation At Orange County Sewage Treatment Plant Fire companies from numerous Orange County fire departments are on the scene of a two-alarm fire at the Highland Falls sewage treatment plant. The fire was reported around 12:20 p.m. Wednesday at the plant located at 95 Rose Drive, just east of Main Street in the village of Highland Falls, police said. There was a brief evacuation for safety purposes, but has since been lifted, the police department said. Highland Falls Man Sentenced To Five Years For Cocaine Possession A Highland Falls man was sentenced to five years in prison on Monday for possession of cocaine, according to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.  Rakeem Whatley, 42, was also sentenced to three years post-release supervision after pleading guilty in December to criminal possession of a controlled substance for having 3.7 grams of cocaine, said the DA's Office, At the time that Whatley pled guilty, he admitted that on March 31, 2017, he knowingly possessed the cocaine at his apartment at 467 Main Street, in the Village of Highland Falls, the DA's Office said.  The cocaine was dis…
