A child was hospitalized after being shot on Birch Street in Chambersburg, where a local man was later arrested on firearms charges, police announced on Friday, Dec. 13. A man who escaped the back of a Philadelphia police car on Monday, May 13 has been arrested, US Marshals said in a release. Nafiysh Knox-Schenck was taken into custody on the 600 block of West Girard Avenue around noon on Wednesday, May 15, authorities said. Authorities have charged 52-year-old Lamar Young with the double murder in Fairmount Park on Feb. 29, Philadelphia police say. Young is in police custody on two counts of murder, criminal conspiracy, firearms charges, and related offenses, PPD said in a release. Forty-nine-year-old Thurston Cooper and 38-year-old Krystina Chambers, both of Philadelphia, were found shot to death near 3800 Mount Pleasant Drive, police have said. Police have identified the man they believe killed two people in central Pennsylvania last month. Shawn Hairston, 35, and Ana Scott, 42, were shot dead in a home on the first block of 16th Street in Harrisburg on Mar. 13, according to city police.
