An MS-13 gangster sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint, culminating a three-month-long pattern of abuse on Long Island, a jury found Wednesday, May 6.
Jayden Abadi Alvarado Velasquez, 40, was convicted of predatory sexual assault, two counts of assault, five counts of weapons possession, and aggravated harassment, the Nassau County District Attorney’s office announced Friday, May 8.
“This defendant trapped the victim in a cycle of violence and believed his affiliation with MS-13 made him untouchable,” District Attorney Anne Donnelly said.

A Dutchess County man who fired a gun during a late-night gas station robbery in Orange County and left with over $1,000 in cash will spend the next two decades behind bars.
Hans Altidor, 56, of Poughkeepsie, was sentenced Thursday, April 30, to 20 years in state prison followed by five years of post-release supervision after previously pleading guilty to first-degree robbery, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office announced on Friday, May 1.

A traffic stop in Rockland County led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man accused of illegally possessing a loaded firearm.
The incident happened just before 9:40 p.m. on Friday, March 27, on Route 9W in West Haverstraw, the Haverstraw Police Department said on Saturday, March 28.
