A massive fire tore through a historic barn at Cox Farms in Centreville early Sunday morning, killing multiple chickens and leaving a path of destruction, officials said. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue units rushed to the 15600 block of Braddock Road around 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 2 after receiving reports of a large fire at the family-owned farm. Friends of a Connecticut man are mourning after federal authorities found his body along a hiking trail in Montana after he was missing for a week. Hartford County native Grant Marcuccio, from Wethersfield, was reported missing on Aug. 18 from his home in White Fish, Montana, where he lived. A third Sports Farmers Market plans to open in South Jersey, developers said. Real estate company Vantage Commercial announced an agreement to bring Sprouts to West Deptford in Gloucester County. A major Western Massachusetts potato farmer is seeking to grow buds as well as spuds. Bernie Smiarowski, of the 500-acre Smiarowksi Farm, has plans to build a 100,00-square-foot marijuana greenhouse on the Hatfield, Whatley town line. For reference, 100,000 square feet is about the same size as six hockey rinks put together.
