One Hospitalized After Crashing Vehicle Into Fairfax County Home
One person had to be extricated from a vehicle after it came crashing through a home in Fairfax County on Tuesday afternoon. First responders were called to the 14900 block of Carlbern Drive in Centreville on Jan. 30 when a driver accidentally smashed through the front of an area residence. According to a Fairfax County Fire/Rescue spokesperson, crews had to extricate one person who wound up trapped in the vehicle, and they were taken to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation of undisclosed injuries. Driver, 18, Dies Weeks After Fairfax County Crash
An 18-year-old driver has died of injuries suffered in a Fairfax County crash on Jan. 2, authorities said. Jose Armando Sanchez Aguilar, of Reston, was heading south on Fairfax County Parkway when he lost control of his 2011 Honda Civic, left the roadway, and struck the sound barrier wall just after 5 a.m., county police said. Sanchez Aguilar was hospitalized with serious injuries and died on Jan. 17, county police said. An 87-year-old Reston man well known to the community has died from his injuries after being struck by a Mercedes while walking near a busy Fairfax County intersection, police say. Peter McCandless has been identified by investigators as the man struck attempting to cross the southbound lanes of Reston Parkway near Market Street earlier this week.
