Missing Tire Leads To DWI Arrest: Denville PD
A 71-year-old Denville woman was arrested and charged with DWI after driving without a tire on Wednesday, May 6, authorities said.
At 8 p.m., officers pulled over a vehicle on Route 53 after observing it did not have a front passenger side tire, Denville police said. While talking to the driver, Deborah Walz, officers determined she was intoxicated, police said.
Walz was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor or drugs, careless driving, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane, police said. She was released pending a court appearance, police said.
Newark PD Captain Busted For DWI On Route 202: Authorities
A Newark police captain was arrested for driving while intoxicated in Hunterdon County Saturday, Nov. 1, authorities said.
At 11:10 p.m., officers spotted a vehicle failing to maintain its lane and obstructing the flow of traffic, Readington Police said.
The driver, Elvis Perez, a Middletown resident, was determined to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated, police said.
He is charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, and failure to maintain lane, police said.
Perez has been suspended without pay, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said.
Erratic, Speeding Route 206 DWI Jeep Driver Had Open Container: Byram PD
A 35-year-old man was arrested after police say he was driving drunk with an open container of alcohol in his vehicle on Route 206 in Sussex County.
The arrest happened just after 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, according to a Byram Township Police Department media release.
An officer saw a white Jeep traveling at a low rate of speed, then noticed it weaving between lanes and speeding up and down in an erratic manner, the report said. As officers got closer, the vehicle suddenly accelerated, prompting a traffic stop.

Police: DWI Sussex County Man Nearly Crashes Into Officer, Fails To Maintain Lane On Route 206
A Sussex County man was drunk when he nearly crashed into a police cruiser last week, authorities said.
Anthony Scudilla, of Hopatcong, was traveling on Route 206 in Byram Township when he failed to maintain his lane and nearly hit a police cruiser on Friday, Sept. 25, police said.
The Byram patrol officer stopped Scudilla and saw an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, police said.
Scudilla, who police say appeared to be intoxicated, was then asked to perform a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed, according to police.

Drunk Westchester Driver Who Crashed Into Pole Found After K-9 Search In Greenwich, Police Say
A man who left the scene of an accident in Greenwich was located by a police K-9 who tracked his scent.
Aaron Guerrero, 38, of Port Chester, was arrested around 8 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 17, after Greenwich Police responded to a report of a vehicle striking a utility police, said the Greenwich Police.
When officers arrived on the scene of the crash, they found the vehicle on the west side of North Street against the damaged pole, but no driver was in sight.

Round Hill Road Crash Leads To DUI Charge, Greenwich Police Say
A man is facing DUI charges after his involvement in a Greenwich crash, police say.
Greenwich Police say they responded to a motor vehicle accident on Round Hill Road on Saturday, June 15 around 11:30 p.m.
Further investigation revealed that a disabled vehicle was involved in an accident, and the driver, identified as Colin O’Toole, 34, of New Haven, was observed to have red eyes and an alcoholic odor, according to police.
O’Toole was also driving the vehicle with a suspended license, police say.
