Football Star, 24, Dies Of Injuries From Trenton Shooting: Prosecutor
A 24-year-old man from Mercer County died of injuries suffered in a shooting in Trenton earlier this month, authorities said. Justin Prescott Reed, of Ewing, died on May 22, as a result of injuries he sustained in the May 14 shooting on Brunswick Avenue, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said on Wednesday, May 31. No arrests had been made in the shooting as of press time, authorities said. Reed was a star football player at Ewing High School. Shock and sadness spread following the shooting death of a Mercer County man. De Haven Rogers, formerly of Hamilton, was found suffering a gunshot wound in the front yard of a Sussex Street home in Ewing on Wednesday afternoon, April 26, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. A 76-year-old former Mercer County high school teacher has been charged with sexually assaulting a student in the 1990s, authorities said. Joseph DePuglio, of Ewing, had a sexual relationship with the girl when he taught at Steinert High School in Hamilton, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said. An elderly man died after being struck by a vehicle near an intersection in Ewing Wednesday evening, authorities confirmed. A 54-year-old man being held on a burglary charge was being sought after he escaped from Trenton Psychiatric Hospital, authorities said. Wawa Shootout: Police Release Details In Terrifying Mercer County Incident
Police have release some details in a shootout that occurred inside of a Mercer County Wawa store early Sunday, Jan. 15. An argument broke out between patrons at the Silvia Street store in Ewing around 3:25 a.m., at which point workers asked them to leave, police said. One person stayed inside of the store and shot at someone who had left but was coming back inside, police said. The person re-entering returned fire, however, no one was struck. The incident remains under police investigation.
