The site of a formerly polluted oil service station is being renovated into a new community space.
Redevelopment of the old Racing Oil Service Station property at 181 Center St., in Chicopee, recently received a $10,000 MassDevelopment grant to help local leaders and community members turn the remediated lot into a “Transformative Development Initiative” district. Community Comes Together For Saw Mill River Cleanup
The Saw Mill River is flowing like never before, following an all-out effort by 300 volunteers on Earth Day weekend for Groundwork Hudson Valley’s Great Saw Mill River Cleanup.
Folks from all walks of life pitched in to pick up over 5,000 pounds of trash, including two dirt bikes, several mattresses and a multitude of car parts.
