Routine Tonsillectomy Turns Deadly For Fredericksburg Boy
A Fredericksburg boy died weeks before his 9th birthday due to complications of a tonsillectomy, his family said on social media.
The boy's dad, Rich Shircliff, on Facebook, said that he had a tonsillectomy on Monday, Jan. 13, "and while everything initially seemed fine, he began experiencing complications on Wednesday morning."

A man released from police custody on accusations he raped, assaulted, and handcuffed a house cleaner in August was shot and killed by officers in Charles County, authorities said.
Officers responding to reports of an assault on the 7300 block of Tottenham Drive found Jordan Proctor, 30, inside and wearing a mask around 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, the Maryland Attorney General said. The series of events began on Saturday evening, Dec. 21, when Trueman Cross Montfort was driving a tan Chevrolet Suburban on Whites Neck Road toward Bushwood Wharf Road in Bushwood, the agency said. Driver Rescued After Plunging Into Reservoir In Carmel
A driver was rescued from a partially submerged vehicle in a Hudson Valley reservoir, authorities said.
The incident occurred in Putnam County shortly after noon on Tuesday, Dec. 3, when a vehicle crashed into the West Branch Reservoir near Washington Road in Carmel, according to the Carmel Police Department.
The driver, a 76-year-old Mahopac woman, was unable to exit the vehicle, prompting an immediate response from Carmel Police officers, along with the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department, the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department Dive Team, and EMS units.
