A rebuilt pier along the Hudson River is about to open up tourism and economic opportunities for a city in Northern Westchester, officials announced. A grand reopening ceremony celebrating the rebuilding and renovation of Fleischmann Pier and Charles Point Park in Peekskill will be held on Sunday, Oct. 13 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on John Walsh Boulevard, officials announced on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Several new crosswalks will be coming to a downtown area in Northern Westchester as part of a $132,000 project meant to improve safety. The new pedestrian crosswalks will be coming to downtown Peekskill as part of the city's ongoing $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative, according to New York State Sen.
