“Armed And Dangerous” Fugitive Arrested At Stamford Hotel After Multi-State Chase
A man wanted in Vermont and Massachusetts was captured in Stamford after authorities warned he was “armed and dangerous.” Mason Payne, 23, was busted by Stamford officers Tuesday, Aug. 19, after a violent chain of events that started with a domestic assault in Dover, Vermont, authorities said. The case escalated when a Massachusetts State Trooper pulled Payne over on I-91 in Holyoke. Payne dragged the trooper several feet before speeding away, officials added. Troopers called off the chase out of concern for safety, but put out an alert to police departments in multiple states. …

Route 52 Traffic Stop Results In Drug Charges For Man, 40
A 49-year-old man is facing drug charges after being busted by a Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy during a traffic stop for not wearing a seatbelt. While on patrol on Route 52 in Carmel, Deputy Sheriff Christopher Irwin spotted a black pickup truck being driven by Dover, Vt. resident Kevin Dancy, who was not wearing his seatbelt. During the subsequent traffic stop, Irwin reported that Dancy was in possession of a quantity of marijuana and Clonazepam, a controlled substance used to treat seizures, panic disorders and anxiety.
