A 37-year-old Dover man was found sentenced to 40 years in prison on Friday, June 28 after being convicted of kidnapping and sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend in Sept. 2021, authorities said.

A suspect has been arrested and charged with manslaughter for allegedly using a rock to kill a homeless man who was found on a set of railroad tracks in Morris County earlier this week, authorities announced Thursday, July 27.
Wilfredo Cabrera-Masariegos, 34, of Dover, was charged with second-degree manslaughter and weapons offenses in the death of Rene Rivera Hernandez, 47, a homeless man who frequented Dover, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said.

A 51-year-old father who "suffered quietly with Leukemia" was found by police, unresponsive and without a pulse, after a car crash that would claim his life, officials say.
Keith James, who was referred to as "the Bear" by his daughters, was traveling on Route 109 when, due to "yet unknown reasons," his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a pole, the Dover Police Department told Daily Voice.

A Pennsylvania man is behind bars on allegations that he burglarized half a dozen Morris County businesses — including a retail and convenience store, restaurant, and three gas stations — over the course of three months, authorities announced.

1 Hospitalized, 1 Arrested In Morris County Restaurant Stabbing
One person was arrested and another hospitalized in a Morris County restaurant stabbing over the weekend.
Melvin Guillen-Gomez, 27, assaulted another 27-year-old victim during an argument at Su Casa Colombia Bar Restaurant on East Blackwell Street in Dover just before 10 p.m., Deputy Chief Jonathan Delaney told Daily Voice.
The victim, a Dover resident, was taken to Morristown Medical Center for treatment, authorities said.
Guillen-Gomez, also of Dover, was arrested at the scene, processed and taken to the Morris County Jail, Delaney said.
