Like the rest of the region, state, and country, Ulster and Sullivan counties have seen a surge in new COVID-19 cases as the virus continues its rapid spread.
In Ulster County, the state Department of Health was reporting that there were 23 new cases reported, with eight in Sullivan County as a statewide trend of new COVID-19 cases continues.
There are now 337 active COVID-19 cases in Ulster, up from 310 earlier in the week, with 100 in Sullivan, both among the highest numbers in the area since the summer.

After seeing a spike in new novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan is warning that the fight against the virus is far from over.
There were more than 45 new cases reported in Ulster County between Thursday, July 2, and Sunday, July 5, prompting Ryan to issue warning to his constituents that the fight isn’t over.

There continue to be newly reported cases related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in both Ulster and Sullivan counties.
As of Monday, May 11, there have been a total of 1,505 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ulster County, with nearly 900 still active.
In Sullivan County, there have been 1,018 confirmed cases, with 337 still active.
Health officials in Ulster said that 637 COVID-19 patients have recovered, while 681 patients in Sullivan have recovered.
There have been 58 COVID-19 fatalities in Ulster, and 25 in Sullivan County since the outbreak began in early March.
