Unruly Man, 74, Charged With DUI At Private Darien Club
An unruly 74-year-old man was charged with allegedly driving while intoxicated after police were called to a private Fairfield County beach club.
Peter Welsh, of Middlesex County in Marlborough, Massachusetts, was arrested on Wednesday, June 19, at the Tokeneke Beach Club in Darien.
According to Sgt. Mauricio Vigil of the Darien Police, officers were called to the club on a report of a possible unruly, intoxicated man.
Officers identified the individual as Welsh, who exhibited signs of intoxication and had a small laceration on his arm, Vigil said.

Norwalk Woman Hitting Curbs, Crossing Into Traffic, Nabbed For DUI In Darien, Police Say
A Fairfield County woman was busted for alleged DUI after she was seen by police sticking the roadside curbs and crossing over the double-yellow line.
Norwalk resident Christina Alicea, age 29, was charged on Sunday, April 21, on Post Road in Darien.
According to Darien Police Sgt. Dan Skoumbros, a Darien officer observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Post Road that swerved to the right into the shoulder, striking the curb, and then was seen crossing over the double-yellow line.

New Chief To Head Darien Police Department
A new chief will soon take over the reins of a Fairfield County police department, but he's no stranger to the area with 28 years of police work under his belt.
The Darien Police Commission announced on Tuesday, Feb. 27 the appointment of Capt. Jeremiah P. Marron, Jr. as the department's 12th Chief of Police.
Marron, a 28-year veteran of the department, will assume command of the department on Friday, April 1, following the retirement of the current Chief, Donald B. Anderson, said Kim Hiffard, chairman of the Police Commission.

Darien Man Charged With Violating Restraining Order, Released On $25K Bond, Police Say
A 44-year-old Fairfield County man was charged after police reported that he violated a restraining order.
A victim spoke to an officer at the Darien Police Headquarters to report that James Farrell, of Darien, had violated a restraining order in place, the Darien Police Department announced on Monday, Nov. 29.
Police said evidence was provided showing that Farrell violated the order.
He was contacted on Monday, Nov. 21, processed for a charge of criminal violation of a restraining order, and released on $25,000 bond, authorities said.
