Democrat Ned Lamont of Greenwich is a "clone of Dannel Malloy" and there may be few taxes, fees or tolls, that the newly-elected governor doesn't like, the Republican gubernatorial candidate alleged.
Now-Gov. Lamont recently expanded his two-year budget proposal to include taxes on sugary drinks, plastic bags, wine and liquor bottles, tobacco and vaping products.

Malloy Calls For Ban On Bump Stocks In Connecticut
Gov. Dannel Malloy's first proposal for the 2018 legislative session would ban the purchase and sale of bump stocks, binary triggers systems, and trigger cranks in Connecticut.
“Bump stocks are cheap, they are deadly, and they have no place in our society,” Malloy said. The device, known as a "rate of fire enhancement," was used by the gunman in the deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas that killed over 500 people.

Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton Throws His Hat In The Ring For Governor's Race
DANBURY, Conn. — It's official: Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton announced Tuesday that he is running for governor, according to the News-Times.
Boughton, a Republican, made the announcement at a press conference at a noon press conference at the Courtyard Marriott, the News-Times said.
This is third run for governor for Boughton, 53, who is serving a record ninth term as Danbury mayor.
