Man Raped, Assaulted Teen For Months On Long Island: DA
A Long Island man has been indicted for his alleged monthslong abuse of a 13-year-old, which ended only when she was able to escape from him, officials said.
Adrees Omar, age 25 of Woodbury, faced his indictment, which included four counts of rape, on Friday, Jan. 19, according to the Nassau County District Attorney.

4 Nabbed In Million-Dollar Suffolk County Retail Theft Ring, DA Says
Four people have been nabbed in a major million-dollar retail theft ring on Long Island.
Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney announced on Tuesday, Aug. 9, that the suspects would steal items from big box stores and then use Ulloaās Brentwood pawn shop as a front.
The suspects would allegedly store the products at a warehouse before selling them online, the DA's Office said.
The suspects, Carlos Ulloa, Henry Delgado, Sandra Cruz, and Sandra Palomino generated over $1 million a year in profit, authorities say.

Hudson Valley Man Pleads Guilty In Child Starvation Death Case
A Hudson Valley man has pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide in connection with the starvation death of his 7-year-old son.
Orange County resident Arturo Cuacuas, age 54, of Newburgh, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, Feb. 2, said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
An Orange County grand jury previously charged the boy's primary caregiver, Leticia Bravo, age 39, of Newburgh, with murder in the death of Peter Cacuas who prosecutors allege was kept secreted inside Bravo's City of Newburgh apartment, while he starved to death.

PA Man Out On Bail For Strangling Woman, Dies In House Fire Along With 3 Dogs
A man with a history of violence and his three dogs died in a fire in Pennsylvania on Saturday, authorities say. Steven Greene, 32, of the 2100 block of Lower Bodines Road, Trout Run, Lycoming County died in the fire from smoke inhalation and severe burns, CBS 21 reports citing Lycoming County Coroner Charles Kiessling.
Greene has a history of violence, starting with charges of fighting in 2015, and most recently was out on $5,000 in bail for a harassment and assault that happened in Oct. 24, 2021, according to court documents.

Mom Of 4 Died Shielding Her Son From Drive-By Shooter, Suspect Arrested Months Later: Police
Nearly six months after Erin Noelle Walsh LaPean, 27, of Harrisburg, was shot dead on her front porch while shielding her son, police have arrested the man they believe pulled the trigger.
Raymeir Jyalel Haynes, 30, of Harrisburg, was arrested on warrant in connection with the shooting on Monday, Dec. 6, according to the Harrisburg bureau of police.
Haynes is accused of shooting Walsh LaPean from a white Kia Optima while she was with her 6-year-old son in the 1400 block of Berryhill Road on June 28 around 7 p.m, according to area police.

Gotcha! Bucks County Man Nabbed In Theft Of Firearm, Jewelry From Local Home
Police have charged a 41-year-old man with stealing a firearm and jewelry from a Bucks County home in September, authorities said Monday.
On Sept. 18, police responded to a Villa Drive home Warminster Township, where a resident said a 9 mm pistol and several jewelry items had been stolen, Warminster Township police said.
Warminster police were able to track the sales of the jewelry and identify Justin Alexander Cutler, of Warminster, who was also found responsible for the theft of the firearm, police said.
