10 Pennsylvania Men Caught By Undercover Police In Sex Sting: DA
Ten central Pennsylvania men were caught in an undercover sex sting at an area hotel, the Cumberland County District Attorney’s office announced on Thursday, Sept. 15.
The following men answered an online advertisement for sex and arrived at a Hampden Township hotel only to end up paying undercover officers:

Bucks Man Causes $1.5M In Damage Stealing Copper Wire From Old Power Plants To Resell: Feds
A 43-year-old Bucks County man has been charged with causing at least $1.5 million in damage to old power plants while stealing copper wire, authorities said.
The crimes were allegedly committed at four coal-fired power plants in Pennsylvania and Maryland, according to US Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero.
Michael Garrison, of Croydon, PA, was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, one count of conspiracy to destroy an energy facility, eight counts of wire fraud, two counts of destruction of an energy facility, and one count of filing a false tax return, Romero said.

Bridgeport Tax Return Preparer Admits To Fraud
A Fairfield County tax preparer has admitted to a charge related to claiming false deductions in clients' tax returns.
Torise Baker, age 38, of Bridgeport, pleaded guilty on Monday, March 21, to one count of aiding and assisting in the preparation and presentation of false and fraudulent income tax returns, according to Leonard Boyle, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut.
From the 2014 through 2016 tax years, Baker prepared about 3,600 federal tax returns for clients through her 101 Things 2 Do, LLC business in Bridgeport, the US Attorney's Office said.

NY Man In Custody, Second Suspect At Large For DelCo Contracting Scam
Two men were charged Thursday for their alleged involvement in a contracting scam targeting Delaware County senior citizens, authorities said.
John Cassidy, 48, of Yonkers, NY, and Thomas Kenny 23, were charged with violations of the Pennsylvania Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act and theft for pressuring residents into paying them for faulty contracting jobs, Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer and Brookhaven chief of police Michael Vice said.
Cassidy, an Irish national, is in the country on an expired visa. He is in custody while Kenny is still at large.

The 32-year-old owner of three restaurants in Northern Westchester and Fairfield County has admitted to scheming the Internal Revenue Service out of more than $122,000.
Stamford resident Steven Cioffi paid employees under the table and skimmed cash off restaurant books, according to John H. Durham, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, and Kristina O’Connell, Special Agent in Charge of IRS Criminal Investigation in New England.
