A prayer vigil on Thursday, May 28 drew dozens of family members, teammates, coaches, and supporters for a 12-year-old South Jersey baseball player who remains in critical condition after a freak accident earlier this week.
Xavier Taylor, who plays for Maple Shade Youth Baseball, was accidentally struck by a ball during warmups on Tuesday, May 26, and was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital, according to 6abc. He remains in intensive care.

Roy Somers, a Galloway Township resident, recently died, according to a GoFundMe fundraiser set up to support his family.
"Roy was many things to many people: a son, a brother, a friend, an advocate for kids, a coach, a fellow lifter.... but most importantly - a husband and a dad," Stacy Merkh, who organized the fundraiser said.
Somers is survived by his wife, Tara, his daughters, Lorelei and Gwendolyn and his two dogs, Chilli and Max.

A 23-year-old woman killed after the car she was in crashed into a tree in Connecticut is being remembered for her warmth, friendships, and love for family and friends.
Jocelyn Hernandez, of West Haven, died after the single-car crash just before 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16, in the 600 block of Woodward Avenue in New Haven, police said. Hernandez was riding in the front passenger seat.
