6-Year-Old Child Left Alone At Hempstead Community Center By Family Friend, Police Say A 6-year-old boy was found alone at a community center after the family friend who was supposed to be watching him allegedly left him unattended, police said.  The incident happened around 8:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, in New Cassel, according to Nassau County Police.
