Duo Nabbed For Attempting To Rob Suffolk County Bank, Police Say
A serial bank robber was among two who were busted attempting to rob a Long Island branch, police announced.
According to the Suffolk County Police Department, Mastic resident Dominic Scotto, age 31, entered Chase Bank on Grand Boulevard in Deer Park at approximately 4:50 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13, handing a teller a note demanding cash.
When the teller declined, police said that Scotto left the bank empty-handed, and he and his driver, West Islip resident Adam Postiglione, age 32, were arrested outside the bank after authorities were notified.

Anthony “Tony” R. Fusco, 79, formerly of Park Ridge, died on Jan. 29, 2021.
Tony was born in New York City to Anthony Sr. and Philomena (Zero) Fusco. He grew up in Brooklyn and was a joy to all he knew him — he was known for his exuberant smile and mischievous personality.
Tony was a graduate of Saint Augustine High School in Brooklyn.
He married the love of his life, Eileen Gordon, on November 7, 1971 and enjoyed a successful career of 40 years with Citibank, before retiring in 2000.

Paramus police nabbed an identity thief as she tried to flee a Route 17 bank with $3,500 that she'd just pulled from a victim’s account, authorities said.
Responding to a call, Officers Michael Boccher, Gregg Hooper and Officer David Polanco seized Chelsea D. Colson, 29, outside the Citibank branch Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said Wednesday.
She was carrying a small amount of cocaine, Ehrenberg said.
The officers learned that Colson withdrew $3,500 from a Brooklyn resident’s account using stolen identification.

A former Manhasset-Lakeville fire captain has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $10,000 from a bank account used by the department.
Alex November, 30, of Glen Cove, was arrested on Thursday, June 20 and charged with grand larceny, 12 counts of falsifying business records, and official misconduct, said the Nassau County District Attorney's Office.

Woman, 21, Tried To Deposit Fake Check In Westport, Police Say
A 21-year-old woman was arrested by Westport Police after allegedly attempting to deposit a fraudulent check.
The incident took place around 4:30 p.m., Friday, April 19, when Westport officers were dispatched to Citibank on a report of a female attempting to deposit a fraudulent check into the account of a third person, said the Westport Police.
Upon arrival, officers identified the woman as Xiara Bermudez of Queens. Officers learned Bermudez attempted to deposit the check at a branch in another town prior to coming to Westport, but left before any transaction took place, police said.
