Baby Trapped In Crib Dies In Berks County House Fire
A 1-year-old girl trapped in her crib died in a Berks County house fire over the weekend, officials said. Crews responded to the blaze on Philadelphia Avenue in Cumru Township around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, May 13. The flames had spread to surrounding homes and all occupants were evacuated, except for the baby, who was found dead in her crib on the third floor of one of the homes despite rescue efforts, 6abc reports. The cause has been preliminarily identified as an electrical issue.

8-Year-Old Boy Shot Dead In East Stroudsburg: Police
An 8-year-old boy was shot and killed earlier this month in East Stroudsburg, authorities announced. The unidentified child was shot around 5:45 p.m. on the 100 block of Mill Creek Road, on Monday, April 3, according to Lehigh Valley Coroner Daniel A. Buglio. His death was ruled a homicide following an autopsy.
