Two children are in the hospital after being struck by a car, the Pottstown Chief of Police Mick Markovich told Daily Voice on Friday, Oct. 11. The collision happened near the corner of Beech and North Adams streets in Pottstown around 5:54 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, according to the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety. A boy is in the hospital after being shot in Central Pennsylvania, state troopers announced on Monday, Oct. 7. The unnamed child was taken in a private vehicle to Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital in East Pennsboro Township on Sunday, Oct. 6, according to PSP Troopers in Carlisle. The preliminary investigation has led PA State Police to believe the child was shot in Carroll Township, York County, although the investigation remains active. There is no threat to the public, according to PSP. Check back here for updates.

A child was injured in a crash early Sunday morning, Oct. 6 on Route 3 in Rutherford, police said. A Honda CRV occupied by a family of four, two adults and two children, spun out and struck the concrete barrier during the crash with a 2022 Mercedes Benz operated by a 33-year-old woman, Rutherford Police Lt. An eight-year-old boy driving an electric bicycle broke his leg in a crash in Medford, authorities said. Emergency crews responded to the intersection of Wakefield Drive and Taisley Court at around 9:55 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22, the Medford Township Police Department said in a news release. An investigation is underway after a 2-year-old girl was struck and killed by a van in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Rockland County at 3:10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, on Calvert Drive in the village of Kaser in Ramapo. According to Ramapo Police Lt. Kierra McQueen, 32, was arrested and charged with simple assault, the Township of Hamilton Police Department said in a news release on Wednesday, Aug. 28. A child was hospitalized after being struck by a van while riding a scooter on a Bergen County street Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 21, police said. The 11-year-old was riding on Boiling Springs Road when they were struck by a 2013 Ford Ecoline E350 exiting a driveway around 4:45 p.m., Capt. Jeff Yannacone said.
