Dr. Patrick McQueeney, who has been serving as the leader of Wanaque schools since 2021, will helm the Westwood Regional School District (WWRSD) come November. The move was approved at the Thursday, Sept. 26 WWRSD Board of Ed (BoE) meeting. The nine-member board voted 8-0, with one abstention, to execute a contract with McQueeney, asking him to take the lead as soon as possible, but no later than Nov. 27. Centenary University First Lady Dies After Being Struck By Hackettstown Hit-And-Run Driver Centenary University First Lady Jeanne (Picariello) Murphy died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Hackettstown, authorities confirmed. Murphy, 70, was struck on Reese Avenue near First Avenue around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, police said. She was rushed to Hackettstown Medical Center and flown to Morristown Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead around 12 p.m. Sunday.
