Despite no rain or snow expected for the week ahead, forecasters are warning residents about the threat of coastal flooding across New Jersey. The National Weather Service said South Jersey will have a threat of minor flooding through 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8. Parts of the Jersey Shore are on alert for minor coastal flooding this week, according to forecasters. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a coastal flood advisory for Atlantic, Cape May, and Ocean counties. The advisory was put into effect until 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29, but flooding is also possible Tuesday and Wednesday. Court documents revealed disturbing details about the abuse suffered by five girls for more than five years at the hands of the three adults they had been living within Cape May. Missing NJ Boater Reunited With Family After Week Adrift
A boater out of Jersey City was reunited with his family last week after he went missing sailing to Bermuda, the Coast Guard said. No one had heard from the mariner since Monday, Nov. 6, and the Coast Guard Atlantic Area command center began a search and rescue effort, the Coast Guard said. Another ship, the Time Bandit, heard an alert, and on Wednesday, Nov. 15, found a vessel that matched the description of the missing boat, the Coast Guard said. Dominic Vricella was fishing east of the Manasquan Inlet where he landed the new state record King Mackerel on July 30. Cape May residents will get their final view of a once-towering coal-burning power plant when the smokestack of the former B.L. England power plant is imploded later this month. Fugitive Arrested In Atlantic City Stabbing: Police
A tip led to the arrest of a 32-year-old fugitive in an Atlantic City stabbing, authorities said. Anthony Mincey of Atlantic City was wanted in connection with an Aug. 16 stabbing in which a 29-year-old man from Cape May was seriously injured, police said. Mincey was charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses. He was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Woman Hit Child With Skee-Ball At Jersey Shore Arcade: Police
Cape May police seek the public's help in identifying the woman in the white dress. She was involved in a disagreement with another patron of the arcade. Tornado Watch In Effect For South Jersey
A tornado watch is in effect for 10 counties in New Jersey until 11 p.m. Monday Aug. 7, according to the National Weather Service. The tornado watch includes Mercer, Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties, the NWS said. Also, the tornado warning was extended to Hunterdon and Warren counties. There also is a watch for severe thunderstorms from Cumberland County north to Trenton. A slighter chance of thunderstorms exists along the Jersey Shore.

Strong to severe thunderstorms will move through the area Monday afternoon, Aug. 7 and Monday evening, according to the National Weather Service. The storms will bring the potential for damaging wind gusts, a few tornadoes, and localized flash flooding, the NWS said.
