A Morristown resident and employee at a local nursery school was the second to test positive for COVID-19 in Morris County, officials said in a press release Friday afternoon. The patient, an employee at Shalom Yeladim Nursery School on Speedwell Avenue, is working alongside administrators to notify parents and employees who they may have come into contact with. A 59-year-old man remained in critical but stable condition Monday after falling through an elevator shaft in a Butler building while helping a person who had their hands stuck in the doors, authorities said. Anna and Richard Ryczek of Butler were inseparable. “They had a son,” neighbor Pier Rondin said. “I heard that the house was the only possession the old couple had to pass on to him.” Their Myrtle Avenue house went up in flames on New Year’s Eve, claiming both of the lives. : 2 Dead In New Year's Eve Butler Blaze
Two people died in a New Year's Eve house fire in Butler, authorities said. A 74-year-old man was airlifted to a hospital with severe burns sustained in the Myrtle Avenue blaze, which broke out shortly before 5 p.m., responders said. It was believed that his 72-year-old wife perished at the scene. Two firefighters were taken to the hospital with injuries that didn't appear life-threatening, responders said. The two-alarm blaze was declared under control around 6:30 p.m. The Morris County Prosecutor's Office didn't disclose further information.

Convicted Hackensack Drug Dealer Gets 12 Years In Morris County Jail
A Hackensack man with a history of narcotics trafficking was sentenced Tuesday to 12 years in prison, authorities said. Michael T. Swanson, 42, dealt cocaine in Morris and surrounding counties before he was caught. He pleaded guilty to distribution of cocaine and conspiracy to distribute controlled dangerous substances, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. A Bergen County teacher from Butler who was arrested on low-degree child abuse charges had her teaching license revoked by state officials. Ashley L. Frabizzio, 34 was taken into custody in 2015 after a school administrator of the Sixteenth Avenue Elementary School in Elmwood Park called police, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said. A former Elmwood Park teacher arrested on low-degree child abuse charges had her teaching license revoked by state officials. Ashley L.
