A four-alarm fire racked a building, closing businesses but narrowly avoiding spreading to neighboring structures, officials say.
A person spotted a fire at Charlie's On Main, a pizzeria located at 340 Main Street, from outside the building at approximately 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, according to the Wakefield Fire Department.
As soon as crews arrived at the scene they struck a second alarm, followed quickly by a third. A fourth alarm was struck almost an hour after the first, at approximately 4:50 p.m., when firefighters were forced to evacuate the building because of structural damage. …
Vehicle Plows Through Pittsburgh Plasma Center Killing 3
The Biomat USA plasma donation center in the Manchester neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was rammed through by an SUV on Sunday-- killing three people and wounding others, say police.
The plasma donation center was struck by a speeding Hyundai Sante Fe in the 1300 block of Western Avenue around 11:35 a.m.
The people killed were the driver, Ronald K. Morgan, 50, of McKeesport along with two center employees Laura Elaine Meneskie, 35, of Pittsburgh, and Parveena Begum Abdul, 55, of Clairton, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner.
