A cockfighting ring was uncovered in the garage of a Bucks County home this week, officials said.
Twenty-five people fled when officials from the Bucks County SPCA and Plumstead police arrived to the Doylestown property Sunday afternoon, Feb. 18, the Bucks SPCA said.
Cesar Cordova-Morales, who remained at the scene, was detained by police. He was carrying a satchel containing several bottles of steroids, cutting instruments, string, artificial metal spurs, spur covers, and other items commonly used in cockfighting, police said. Levittown Man Was Trying To Kill Woman While Shooting Into Her Moving Car: Police
A 25-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after opening fire on a woman's moving car in Bucks County, authorities said.
Anthony Kelly, of Levittown, was arraigned Thursday, March 3 on an attempted murder charge, following the non-fatal shooting in Lower Southampton, police said.
The motorist told officers that she had been shot at while driving on Street Road on Wednesday, March 2.
The woman was not injured, but her vehicle was damaged by gunfire, police said.
The investigation ultimately led police to Kelly, who was arrested in Lansdale on Thursday, March 3.

A 30-year-old Bucks County man is in custody after police say he threatened to grab an officer's gun in Morrisville Friday evening.
Officers arrived at the Commons at Fallsington apartment complex on a report of a domestic incident when they noticed a man -- later identified as Frederick Kornstedt -- outside, and walking towards an officer's car in a "confrontational manner," at approximately 6 p.m, according to Falls Township police.

DA: Inmate Sentenced For Smuggling Drugs Into Bucks County Jail With Help From Son, Officer
An inmate was sentenced Thursday for his involvement in a drug-smuggling ring inside the Bucks County Jail in which eight other men, including his son and a corrections officer, were accomplices, authorities announced.
Vincent McCandless Sr., 35, who was already serving four and a half to 10 years in state prison at the time of his arrest, will add an additional 35 to 70 months to his sentence, according to the Bucks County District Attorney's office.
