Box Truck Slams Into Two School Buses In Central PA (Developing) A box truck struck a pair of school buses on Thursday, Apr. 28, multiple media outlets report. The crash occurred around 8 a.m. while the school buses were parked along McCaskey Avenue and East Walnut Street, according to CBS 21 and WGAL News 8. The box truck driver appeared "dazed" and was hospitalized, a witness told WGAL. 1 Killed, 1 Hurt In I-78 Crash: PA State Police One person was killed and another hurt in a crash early Friday morning on I-78 in Berks County, authorities said. A tractor-trailer was stopped on the side of the road around 5:45 a.m. when a box truck traveling westbound near mile marker 29.3 in Tilden Township, struck the back of the tractor-trailer, Pennsylvania State Police said. The passenger of the box truck was pronounced dead while its driver was taken to Reading Hospital with moderate injuries, police said. Long Island Man Hit By Box Truck Dies From Injuries A Long Island man who was struck by a box truck while crossing a busy roadway has died. Alfred Piretto, age 86, died on Monday, Nov. 22, from the injuries suffered during the crash on Tuesday, Nov. 16 in Franklin Square. According to detectives, Piertto, of Franklin Square, was struck at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Hempstead Turnpike. The driver of the box truck, 34, remained at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
