Local and state police are investigating a shooting at Bowie State University that left two people with gunshot wounds on Homecoming Weekend, authorities announced. At around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night, troopers from the Maryland State Police College Park Barrack were called to assist Bowie State University with security during celebratory events, when gunshots rang out near the school's Center for Business and Graduate Studies building. A 69-year-old grandpa died at the scene of a head-on crash on Monday, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Aug. 24, 2023. Ernest Bowens of Shippensburg was driving a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder south on the 9000 block of Olde Scotland Road in Southampton Township when he crossed over the double yellow line for an unknown reason, state police explained in a release.
