Irishmen Posed As Phony Roofers: Readington Township PD
Two people from Ireland were arrested and charged on Monday, Sept. 16 with running a scam in Readington Township, pretending to be credentialed roofers, authorities said.
In March, Ashley Reilly, 37, presented himself as the owner of Fitzpatrick Construction in Bound Brook with Patrick Ward, 41, who used the pseudonym 'Jack" as his foreman, Readington Township Police said.
They contracted with the homeowner to perform roofing and gutter repairs for a price that substantially exceeded what a licensed contractor would have charged for the same repairs, police said.

Wilson Gonzalez Jr., of Bound Brook, died at RWJ Hospital in New Brunswick on Friday, Aug. 16, his obituary on the Hagan-Chamberlin Funeral Home website says.

2 Injured, 1 Critically, In Somerset County Fire: Prosecutor
Authorities are investigating the cause of a Somerset County fire that hurt two residents, one critically.
The blaze broke out at a home on Mountain Avenue in North Plainfield around 3:10 a.m. Sunday, June 4, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said alongside local Police Chief William Parenti.
Two men were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, where one of them remained in critical condition, McDonald said.
The cause of the fire was being investigated but did not seem suspicious, the prosecutor added.

Support Surges For Bound Brook Family Displaced By Fire
A Bound Brook family lost everything when their home went up in flames, and the community is now rallying to help.
Firefighters responded to the Trupkiewicz family's Mountain Avenue home on March 19, where the fire reached three alarms, according to the local fire station and a GoFundMe campaign launched by relatives.
Annie Kielblock organized the campaign on behalf of her sister, Alyssa, and brother-in-law, Michael Trupkiewicz. The pair and their four children, Lucca, 11; Charlie, 8; Mikey, 2; and Ellowyn, 6 months, have been displaced.
