A Monmouth County storefront that was once the home of roasted chicken meals will soon serve up specialty salads. Just Salad is preparing to open in the former Boston Market location in a shopping plaza at 1021 Broad Street in Shrewsbury. A spokesperson said the restaurant is "tentatively tracking" toward opening in the third quarter of the year. Two cars were sent flying into a shuttered Boston Market in Saugus after a 62-year-old driver slammed into a parked car at high speed on Monday night, Nov. 27, according to authorities. The Boston driver veered off Route 1 and hit a parked Toyota Prius, flipping both cars and getting his vehicle stuck inside the closed Boston Market at 168 Broadway, Saugus Asst. The 27 Boston Market stores in New Jersey that were issued stop work orders last month for failing to pay hundreds of employees have reopened. It gets better, the workers have been compensated. The chicken chain became the center of an investigation by the state's labor department when East Hanover employee Cathy Grimes reported that she and the dozen workers she managed hadn't been paid for two months, the DOL said. Boston Market stores across New Jersey owe its workers thousands of dollars in back wages, and the state's labor department is taking action. The NJDOL issued 27 stop-work orders to Boston Market locations throughout the state on Monday, Aug. 14 saying the rotisserie chicken franchise owes more than $600,000 in back wages to 314 employees.
