A 41-year-old man was airlifted to the hospital after he was struck by a car while riding a bicycle on Long Island. The crash happened in Holtsville at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, the Suffolk County Police Department reported. SCPD said a 41-year-old Massapequa Park man was riding a bicycle north on North Ocean Avenue when he tried to make a left turn near Jamaica Avenue, and a northbound 2007 Honda Civic struck him. One person was killed in a crash overnight near a Long Island intersection. It happened around 11:10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26 in Amityville. A man was riding a bicycle from west to east across Route 110, near Ritter Avenue, when he was struck by a northbound 2009 Toyota Camry, according to Suffolk County Police. A bicyclist is fighting for their life after being hit by a vehicle in Rockville, reports NBC Washington. The bicyclist was reportedly hit by the vehicle on Rockville Pike around 8:40 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, causing life-threatening injuries, continues the outlet. The crash occurred on Saturday, Nov. 5 at about 6 p.m. on Ocean Heights Avenue at a bike path, Somers Point police said.
