Baltimore Man Charged With Gunning Down Keith Hughes Jr. In 2021: Police
A man has been arrested and charged with the first-degree murder of another man he gunned down in 2021, authorities said.
Ernest Smith, 33, was arrested on Tuesday, March 22 and charged with the murder of Keith Hughes Jr., Baltimore City Police said. He is being held at Central Booking and is waiting to see a court commissioner, police said.
Police found two adult males, including Hughes, 37, shot in the 1800 block of E. Lafayette Avenue just before 4 p.m. on July 5, 2021, police said. Hughes was taken to John Hopkins Hospital where he later died.

1 Dead, 2 Hospitalized In Pair Of Baltimore Evening Shootings: Police
One person is dead and two other people are in the hospital in two separate shootings that happened before 5 p.m. on Friday, March 18, authorities said.
The first shooting took place in the 4800 block of Cordelia Avenue around 5:08 p.m., Baltimore City Police said.
Officers called to the scene found one male, 21, and one female, 29, suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The second shooting occurred in the 800 block of Aisquith Street around 5:23 p.m. on Friday, police said.
