Woman Admits To Stealing Nearly $94K Worth of Handbags With Accomplices In Hamptons
A woman pleaded guilty to grand larceny for her part in stealing $94,000 in handbags from a luxury retail store in the Hamptons.
Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney announced the guilty plea of Baseemah Davis on Tuesday, Aug. 16, for stealing from the Balenciaga store in East Hampton in March.
“The message here is clear, organized retail theft in Suffolk County will not be tolerated,” said Tierney

Four Nabbed In SUV After Stealing $90K In Items From East Hampton Store, State Police Say
Four people were arrested and accused of stealing handbags worth more than $90,000 from a Long Island store.
Police responded to a report of a larceny at the Balenciaga store in Suffolk County at about 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, according to New York State Police.
Employees of the store, located at 54 Newtown Lane in East Hampton, said several individuals stole numerous handbags, which had a total value of more than $90,000, and fled the scene in a black Dodge Durango, state police sia.d

CT Man Sentenced For Role In Northeast Grab-Go Theft Scheme
A Connecticut man has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for participating in an extensive commercial larceny spree.
Andres Barclett, aka "Coolie", age 27, of Hartford, was sentenced on Wednesday, Dec. 1, followed by two years of supervised release, said Leonard C Boyle, Acting US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
This case stems from “Operation American Steal,” a long-term multi-agency investigation into numerous “grab and go” thefts from various retail fashion stores in Connecticut and nearby states," said Boyle.

Eight Connecticut people who allegedly went on a five-state, retail-stealing crime spree have been indicted on six charges the U.S. Attorney's Office Connecticut announced Thursday, Oct. 1.
