Police ID Man Hit, Killed While Walking On Colchester Road A 49-year-old Colchester man was hit and killed as he walked along a Connecticut highway at night.  Shawn Schulze was walking west on Route 354 in Colchester around 1 a.m. on Friday, May 2, when he was hit by a car driving in the same direction, Connecticut State Police said.  Schulze was wearing dark clothing and was in an area of the road that had no lights, police said. Michael Cream, of Norwich, is charged with second-degree manslaughter, engaging in a police pursuit, reckless driving, and other traffic infractions, according to Connecticut State Police. 7-Year-Old Killed In Norwich House Fire A 7-year-old child was killed after they were trapped inside a burning home in New London County Tuesday evening, Oct. 15, authorities said.  Firefighters were called to a home at 83 Summit Street in Norwich just before 5:30 p.m. to reports of a two-story house fire.
