Westwood Native, U.S. Army Officer Alyson Garino Dies, 30 (Tribute)
Alyson Garino, a Bergen County native and highly-respected First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, died on Dec. 2, 2023. She was 30 years old.
A graduate of Immaculate Heart Academy, Alyson went on to attend Penn State University, State College, and graduated with honors in 2015, according to her obituary on the Becker Funeral Home website. A Schreyer Scholar, she majored in English and minored in Military Studies. A distinguished military graduate of the ROTC Nittany Lion Battalion, she received the highly respected American Veterans of WWII award.

$2.7B Project Will Turn Old Atlantic City Airport Into Formula 1 Racetrack
A $2.7 billion development project is set to turn an old Atlantic City airport into a Formula 1 racetrack with condos and stores, officials said.
Atlantic City Council gave the go-ahead, by an 8-0 vote, to the project to redevelop Bader Field during a meeting on Wednesday, March 22.
Mayor Marty Small Sr. held a ceremony to sign the Memorandum of Understanding with the project's developer, DEEM Enterprises LLC, at Bader Field on Thursday, March 23.

NY Covid-19 Cases Surpass 10,000 As Cuomo Unveils Measures For Adding Hospitals, Equipment
As New York State has surpassed 10,000 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced measures to increase hospital capacity and acquire vital equipment such as ventilators and masks.
A total of 10,356 have now tested positive in New York. With 45,437 tests having been done in the state, 22.7 percent of those tests have been positive.
