Mountain Rescue: Rangers Carry Injured Hiker Mile To Safety In Capital Region
Forest rangers carried an injured hiker a mile to safety after the hiker suffered an ankle injury in the Catskill Mountains. The hours-long rescue operation began at around 3:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 in Greene County, according to the state Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). Crews were told that a hiker had been injured on the west side of Sugarloaf Mountain, near the town of Hunter. A police officer was treated for smoke inhalation and several guests reportedly required medical attention in a Christmas weekend fire at the Hilton Meadowlands just off the NJ Turnpike in East Rutherford. Multiple ambulances responded to 2 Meadowlands Plaza after garbage apparently caught fire on the third floor shortly before 9 a.m. on Christmas Eve. An elderly woman is hospitalized with serious injuries after being rescued from a house fire on Long Island. Fire crews were called at around 8:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, with reports of a Roosevelt home engulfed in flames on East Raymond Avenue near Nassau Road. Two Reportedly Suffer Minor Injuries In Crash With Ambulance In Maryland
Two people were injured after a loaded ambulance was hit by a vehicle in Prince George's County, officials say. The collision happened at St. Barnabas Road and Branch Avenue around 8:16 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17, according to the Prince George's County Fire Department. At the time of the collision, the ambulance had a patient on board, officials noted. A mother and child in the civilian vehicle were reportedly injured in the collision, reports WUSA 9. There were no reported injuries to the crew or patient on the ambulance.

BMW Ran Red Light In Crash That Hospitalized EMTs In Elizabeth: Authorities
A BMW that ran a red light struck an ambulance, sending two EMTs and a passenger in the vehicle to the hospital over the weekend in Elizabeth, authorities and sources said. The ambulance had a green light to cross Spring Street at Fairmount Avenue when it was struck by the BMS that ran the red light around 3:10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 6, city spokesperson Ruby Contreras said. A child riding a bike was injured after crashing into an ambulance in Montgomery County on Friday, March 18, authorities confirmed. An ambulance heading to a 911 call said the 12-year-old bicyclist "entered the road unsafely," and struck the passenger side of the vehicle in the 4000 block of West Skippack Pike in Skippack Township around 3:30 p.m., according to Pennsylvania State Police.
