NJ Town BOE Member Threatened Sup't In Trying To Reverse Son's Suspension, Ethics Board Finds
A school board trustee in Warren County crossed the line in trying to have her child's bullying suspension revoked, according to a state ethics board.
Lisa Moyer, a member of the board of education in Allamuchy Township, violated several sections of the school ethics board, after her child was suspended for harassment, intimidation and bullying in 2022, the School Ethics Commission ruled. The board recommended Moyer be reprimanded for her actions in a ruling released in April.
Moyer, however, says she was just trying to defend her son.

Driver Injured After Truck Overturns On Route 80: Njsp
A Volvo tractor trailer overturned on Route 80 in Warren County after the driver lost control on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 2, authorities said.
At 12:26 p.m., the truck, which is hauling diesel fuel, was traveling westbound on Route 80 in Allamuchy Township when it lost directional control, ran off the roadway to the right, struck a guardrail and overturned down an embankment, Troy McNair, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.
The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, McNair said. The crash remains under investigation, McNair said.

UPDATE: Three Newark men have been charged by New Jersey State Police with shooting and killing a fellow Brick City resident and leaving his body alongside Route 80.
Two of them – William Dixon, 24, and Nishir Rios-Figueroa, 30 – were already in custody in connection with other crimes, State Police said on Tuesday. They captured the third, Mustafa Manns, 28, in Newark.

Two adults are in custody after authorities in Warren County seized $8,000 in heroin from their car, officials say.
Investigators executing a search warrant on a gray Acura ILX found 25 "bricks" of heroin, which police say is worth about $8,000 on the streets. The car belonged to Vashone Paul, 29, of Paterson, but was being used by Bianca Degregorio, of Elmwood Park, the Prosecutor's Office said.

A driver wanted on outstanding warrants was jailed after he brawled with New Milford police, kicked an EMT and spit in an officer’s face, authorities said.
Thomas Overton, 19, of the Bronx had no license, registration – or even license plates -- when Officer Daniel O’Neill stopped him in a BMW on New Milford Avenue near Main Street shortly before 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Capt. Kevin Van Saders said.

A Warren County man and former deacon was arrested after allegedly uploading and sending child pornography, authorities announced.
Bruce Olsen, 66, was charged with two counts of child endangerment for possession and distribution of child pornography, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said in a release on Wednesday, May 25.
Olsen, of Hackettstown, is accused of uploading child sexual abuse material, according to investigators who carried out a search warrant in Allamuchy Township on Wednesday, May 11.
Olsen formerly worked as a deacon in Roxbury, according to TapInto.net.

More than 300 heroin bricks valued at approximately $75,500 was found following a traffic stop on Route 80 in Warren County, leading to several charges for a Bronx pair, authorities said.
State Police stopped a car with a bogus license plate on Route 80 in Allamuchy Township on Sunday, May 1, Warren County Prosecutor James L. Pfeiffer said in a Monday release.
A follow-up investigation and search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 309 heroin bricks with an approximate value of $75,500, Pfeiffer said.

Police: DWI Warren County Man, 59, Charged In Route 57 Hit-And-Run Crash
A Warren County man had been drinking when he left the scene of a crash on Route 57, authorities said.
Jeffrey Fuchs, 59, fled east on Route 57 after crashing near Newburgh Road in Mansfield Township on Nov. 25 around 5:50 p.m., Hackettstown Police said.
Fuchs’ vehicle was later found at the River Star Diner in Hackettstown with damage to the front driver’s side and a passenger tire off the rim, police said.
During questioning, Fuchs was found to be intoxicated, and a bottle of vodka was located in the vehicle, authorities said.
