Sports Industry Legend, Englewood Dad Chris Bernard Dies, 47
Chris Bernard, a Bergen County, NJ dad, former Adelphi University Hall of Fame basketball star and CEO who once worked in a VP role for the NY Knicks, has died. He was 47 years old.
As of Wednesday, Jan. 8, more than $220,000 had been raised on a GoFundMe launched to support Chris' wife, Amanda, and their three children, Roman, Jude, and Chloe, of Englewood. The campaign was launched by Dan Gladstone, a senior VP at the National Basketball Players Association.
Chris' death spread shock and sadness through the basketball community on a national level.

Islip HS Coach Accused Of Sexually Abusing Student
An Islip High School coach has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a student at the school, according to the Suffolk County Police.
Tyler Murphy, 25, of Islip, was charged on Friday, May 3, after school officials notified the school resource officer of an incident during which he inappropriately touched a female student around 8:20 p.m., Thursday, May 2, at the school at 2508 Union Blvd, said the Suffolk County Police.

Community Rallies For Family Of Late River Vale Dad Phil Foleen, 38
The community is coming together in support of a River Vale family mourning its husband and father, Phil Foleen. He died Sept. 5 at 38 years old, his obituary says.
More than $38,800 had been raised on a Fundly account for Foleen's wife, Sarah, and kids, Aiden Alexander and Quinn Leeanne, as of Saturday evening.
"One of the kindest, smartest, best people I have ever known," Samuel Adams wrote on the campaign. "All the love in the world to him and his beautiful family."
