Hawk Stuck In Car Rescued By Pennsylvania State Police Troopers Pennsylvania State Police troopers rescued a hawk that struck and got stuck in a car grill on Feb. 21. Trooper Rahn (pictured) and Trooper Williams teamed up to remove an injured Red-Railed Hawk from the grill in Carlisle on Wednesday morning. The bird has been taken to Wildlife in Need PA for additional care.  This is the second bird rescue by PSP troopers this month. Bald Eagle Struck On Highway Rescued By Pennsylvania State Police Troopers Two Pennsylvania State Police Troopers went on a rescue mission for a special bird. Troopers Alex Ebbert and Emilio Rizzo were called to a report of a bald eagle struck on Route 422 in Greenwood Township, Perry County on Sunday around 11 a.m., according to PSP.  They arrived to find that the bird suffered from an injured wing after being hit by a car.  "Trooper Ebbert used his cruiser jacket to wrap the bird for secure transport," state police stated in a release. "They met PA Game Commission personnel at PSP Newport, who took the eagle for rehabilitation."

Motorcyclist, 22, Killed In Berks County Crash ID'd As Area Baseball Player Authorities have identified the motorcyclist killed in a Berks County crash as a 22-year-old man. Anthony Rota, of Boyertown, was heading west on Route 422 when he lost control and struck a guardrail around 8:30 a.m. in Exeter, according to police. Rota, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead around 5:45 p.m. Friday at Reading Hospital, authorities said. Witnesses told police that speed was a factor.
