MILES OF Backups: Crash Closed All Lanes Of I-81 In Central PA, PennDOT Says A crash shuttered all lanes of Interstate 81 Northbound in Central Pennsylvania, authorities say.  The crash was between exits 48 to PA 74- York Road and 52A to US 11 North-New Kingstown, according to 511PA. The crash happened at 8:14 a.m. on Aug. 25. The roadway repopened around noon. The number of vehicles or people involved is unclear.  Check back here for updates.

Fatal Accident Jams I-81 In Dauphin County Friday evening traffic came to halt on Interstate 81 Northbound following a serious crash.The two-car crash occurred on the northbound side near mile marker 65.5 around 4:15 p.m. in Susquehanna Township, Dauphin County. Footage from the scene shows an overturned vehicle on the roadway. Initial reports say at least one person needed extrication and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Dauphin County Coroner was alerted and the cause remains under investigation.
