Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt In East Hempfield Crash A motorcyclist was left with serious injuries after a crash in East Hempfield Friday, authorities said. Albert Cheeks, 47, of Randallstown, Maryland was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Route 30 near the Marietta Avenue overpass around 1 p.m. when he rear-ended an 80-year-old Lancaster woman's car, according to East Hempfield police. Albert Gilbert Meier Acosta, 31, was travelling Westbound on Route 30 in Lancaster near Rohrerstown Road in a Mini Cooper when he struck a disabled Chrysler 300 parked along the shoulder, according to police. Police arrived on the scene of the crash at approximately 9:26 p.m. The impact of the Cooper into the Chrysler caused the Chrysler to catch fire.
