Charged Child Rapist Kidnaps Girl Then Kills Himself During PA Police Pursuit
A man out on bail for felony child rape kidnapped a girl at gunpoint but when police closed in, he turned the gun on himself, the Pennsylvania State Police announced on Wednesday afternoon. Former convict, James Lee Kopp Jr., 53 of Hanover and East Berlin (although most recently from McSherrystown) kidnapped a 12-year-old girl at gunpoint from her yard in the 600 block of North Street in McSherrystown and fled the area, PSP detailed. A 36-year-old man has died at the scene of a crash on Route 341, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Tuesday. Jordan T. Mushinski of Grantville was pronounced dead in the 3500 block of Route 341/Colebrook Road in Conewago Township at 10:12 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, investigating Trooper Matthew Condrad detailed in the release on Feb. 27. A 41-year-old man is dead following a rollover crash at a Dollar General parking lot on Saturday, January 21, authorities say. The unnamed driver made a "sudden turn" into a Dollar General parking lot at 3457 Bull Road at the Dover/Conewago Township line, witnesses told authorities. The victim of a rollover crash, involving an ejection which threw a man into oncoming traffic, has been identified by the York County coroner. Naifees Giddings-Page, 26, of Harrisburg (previously of York and Philadelphia), was driving Monday on I-83 north in Conewago Township when he hit the right barrier, crossing both lanes of traffic and striking the left median barrier wall, according to the York County Coroner’s Office. A man died after being thrown from his car and hit by a passing vehicle along Interstate 83 on Monday night, according to the York County coroner. The initial dispatches to a crash involving a rollover and possible ejection came from the York County Department of Emergency Services at 8:21 p.m., according to PennLive. A York County man died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash along Interstate 83 in York County on Wednesday, according to the York County Coroner's Office. Brian Miller, 54 of Conewago Township, was traveling on I-83 South near mile marker 23 when he swerved off the highway to the right, got back on crossing both lanes of traffic and hit a jersey barrier, according to Pennsylvania State Police. State Police Investigating Fire In Conewago Township
Authorities were investigating the cause of a house fire that spread to multiple structures in Conewago Township Tuesday. Multiple fire companies were dispatched to the 3600 block of Old Hershey Road around 3 p.m., where the blaze had spread from a garage to the house, with smoke showing through the roof. The Hershey Volunteer Fire Company posted on Facebook that several structures on the property were involved. No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
