Joseph Kelly, of Dover, has been identified as the man who died after a forklift collapsed on him at J&K Salvage in the 1000 block of Kings Mill Road in Spring Garden Township around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, according to an updated release by the York County coroner's office.

Upon arrival, authorities learned about that the forklift had suddenly collapsed— trapping the Kelly— causing "life-threatening injuries," police initially stated in a release.

"He immediately became unresponsive, and though his co-workers were able to remove the forklift, the man died at the scene from his injuries," as the release detailed.

The man was declared deceased at 8:20 a.m. by Deputy Coroner Jacob Clevenger.

His cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and the manner was accidental, Coroner Pamela L. Gay stated in the release following the autopsy on Thursday, July 28.

Funeral and memorial service details have yet to be shared publicly.
